Today is Day Five in the #LGFLoveMe Challenge and today’s prompt is “A note to your future self”. I’ve been enjoying this challenge and it has led me to pause and reflect a little on how I see, talk to, and treat myself. I’ve done a “letter to your past self” activity before but this is a letter to a future me, which is an interesting perspective.
Have no regrets. When looking back over your life, know that you did the best you could — being the best mom, wife, friend, and daughter you could be. Life wasn’t always easy and the obstacles and heart-break taught you to be stronger, more accepting, and more open to change, help, and opportunity. Who you are is made up of all the good and bad things that have happened in your life, but you do not need to be defined by the bad. Choose to focus on the good and the achievements and use the not-so-good to learn and become better.
Relax more, take life day by day, choose happy, and know that everything will pass. Hug the ones you love and focus on the present. Be grateful for everything little thing and don’t be afraid to tell someone “thank you”, “I love you”, “I appreciate you”.
What would you tell your future self?
